6 weeks and all is well

I had my 6 week postpartum checkup yesterday and got the all clear to "be a normal person again" as my doctor put it. So bright and early this morning (before the Florida heat became too oppressive) I laced up my shoes and hit the sidewalk for my first jog in over 4 months. It felt fantastic to be jogging again, and although I did walk probably 30-40% of the time, it was a good start.

It has already been a week since I posted my weight loss goals, so here are my stats for this week:
Pre-pregnancy weight: 133 lbs.
Final pregnancy weight: 171 lbs.
Total weight gain: 38 lbs.!!(ugh, scary...)
Current weight: 145 lbs.
Current weight lost: 26 lbs.
Goal weight: 125 lbs.
Weight left to lose: 20 lbs.

I lost three pounds this past week-awesome!!!Now that I can exercise completely again, hopefully that momentum will continue.
On a different note, my first Mother's Day was fantastic! I will try and post pics soon-

  1. way to go, laura! i need to get moving, too. i tried to do sit ups the other day and got to about 5! my abs don't work! maybe you'll motivate me!
